Updated: Mar 7, 2018

Gibson Consulting and the Bed-Stuy Gateway BID Work to Strategize and Empower Local Businesses

Gibson Consulting is pleased to announce its new strategic partnership with the Bedford Stuyvesant Gateway Business Improvement District (the Bed-Stuy BID), a public-private partnership which offers supplemental public services to one of Brooklyn’s largest commercial areas. These services, along with a variety of other economic development resources, help to revitalize, stimulate, and grow local businesses and improve the quality of life for residents, visitors, and merchants within the community.

The Bed-Stuy BID’s commercial corridor covers 29 blocks and 1.5 miles - East on Fulton Street from Classon Avenue to Troy Avenue, and South on Nostrand Avenue from Halsey Street to Atlantic Avenue. This bustling retail corridor is home to over 400 properties and more than 350 businesses. The BID works to make supplemental municipal services, business attractions, marketing and special events, technical assistance, streetscaping, and advocacy available to the commercial district.

“This partnership is an important step for us because both companies are aiming to grow in the business development industry, providing the best services for our clients”, stated Medina Sadiq, Executive Director of the Bed-Stuy BID.

The Gibson Consulting team will work with the BID’s leadership team to identify and strategically work toward operational goals and ensure compliance with contractual obligations and requirements. The team will also serve as business analysts for project and program development – responsible for thorough and accurate research, projections and processes to achieve the BID’s goals.
